Darci Read of Darci Sews

Interviewed by Elizabeth Townsend Gard

Date December  2018

I began quilting in 2010 when my niece was born. I was living in New York City at the time, in a teeny tiny apartment, and thought it would be a small project to make her a quilt. I could take it on the train with me, as I was sewing it all by hand. Now I know how naive I was. 800 yards of fabric and 9 years later, I still enter each project with the thought that this will be so easy. You’d think I’d learn by now. Currently I live and work in St Paul Minnesota where I own Field Trip Quilting, a Longarm studio and classroom space.
