Welcome! We are multi-faceted. We began as a research podcast by Dr. Townsend Gard at Tulane University Law School.
We've grown into a community about quilting, crafting, entrepreneurship and intellectual property.

Joel Sellers, quilter
Interviewed by Elizabeth Townsend Gard
Date April 2018
Joel is an amazing quilter, who is relatively new to quilting (but not sewing). She is also part of our Quilting Army. She talks about how to get involved if you are a beginning quilter.
Joel trained in business and accounting and spent nearly 30 years as a healthcare executive. She discovered the joys of quilting in 2015 and hasn’t looked back. She likes piecing, applique, English paper piecing, foundation paper piecing, you name it. She has lots of UFOs (unfinished objects) and is committed to cutting that number significantly in 2018. At the urging (brow beating) of quilting friends, she has entered a quilt show for the first time. The Gulf States Quilting Association (GSQA) has a biennial quilt show in Slidell, Louisiana in April 2018. She hopes for forbearance and kindness from the judges. Most of her quilts and other makes have been given away, but the quilts on the To Do list for 2018 are to keep. Joel is jealous of all of her guild buddies who have stacks of quilts at home. Quilt envy is a definite motivator. Joel lives and quilts in New Orleans, LA and is a proud member of Cotton Pickin Quilt Guild.
