Pam Johnson was suggested by Hope O'Keeffe, a colleague who is General Counsel at the Library of Congress.
Pam creats art quilts. We're going to talk to her about how she began doing this, what is an art quilt, and the role of shows, galleries, and competitions. She also has Series of quilts, which I want to know more about.
Pam is from the United Kingdom, and came to the US in 1980, where a year later she began creating art quilts. She uses "piecing, machine thread painting, had and machine applique, trapunto, and hand and machine quilting." (Background on website)
