Automation, baby
qct4.jpg

Dream of computer automation?  We did too.  The Grace Company is the genius behind many major company's automation software.  You see it called a number of different names.  Under Grace Company, it's called Quilter's Creative Touch 5, and it is awesome. We've been using it for about 9 months now, and with the new upgrades, it's brilliant,  fun, and not that hard to master, even for us.  Automation can be added to any of the Q'nique systems, and even to domestic machines and mid-arms that are added to a frame.  Amazing, right?  We bought of the system first and then added the automation about a year later

Why I wanted automation, a personal confession from Elizabeth Townsend Gard

I can't do feathers.  I tried for a year.  Now, I can FMQ, do ruler work, and drop in an automated. swirl or feather, as needed.  Friends from the Quilting Army also love to come by to do edge to edge, and it takes them now under 3 hours from start to finish, including lunch. (Yes, we always have lunch).

Note: you need a PC-based tablet for the automation.  Here the requirements: Window 7 or 8 tablet. We have a Surface Pro with 4 GB of Ram.  It's a 12-inch screen, and we love it.  If you are unsure, take the requirements to a tech store, and they can help you.  NO APPLE COMPUTERS.  Only PCs.

Ideally:  1.66 GHz or faster processor
65 GB hard-drive space with at least 2 GB for installation
2 GB or more of RAM (4 is even better)
A full-size USB port, and a second USB port if your system uses the USB port to charge.
Size: Between 10 and 12-inch screen
                 Internet connectivity is required (wifi)
                 Screen resolution 1024x768 or higher
